Why your payroll company should not serve as TPA to your plan

If your payroll company tries to sell a 401(k) plan to you, we recommend that you decline their offer. The packages they offer include cookie-cutter-type plans and a limited roster of investments from which they receive compensation.  Pension plan administration is not their primary area of expertise; payroll is.
